For the second year, the Women's Club of Hollister is participating in San Benito GIVES from September 1st through the 10th. San Benito GIVES is a fundraising event in San Benito County to raise financial support for nonprofits, advance their mission, as well as the needs of others in our community, and connect donors to charitable causes they care about most.
Your donation will be divided between Small Steps and WCH's Comfort & Care Bundles. Both programs provide a valuable resource to children in need. Small Steps provides clothing, shoes, and supplies to children during the holiday season. With our population growth comes an increased need for financial and volunteer support. The Comfort & Care Bundles project began several years ago by the Women's Club to answer a need for disadvantaged children and those who are taken from their homes in the middle of the night by Child Protective Services. The backpacks are filled with new clothing, toiletries, a blanket, towels, journals for the older kids, diapers for the infants and toddlers, and a small stuffed animal. WCH prepared 200 bundles in 2018 and is preparing to provide 180 bundles in 2019. Each year the bundles are given to CASA of San Benito County, CPS, Chamberlains Youth Services, Emmaus House, and Kinship.
From our heart to yours, THANK YOU for your donation.

The Board of Directors and the Women's Club of Hollister would like to thank Jill Martin for her dedication and leadership as President for the nearly three years. Jill stepped into the position during a time of transition and helped boost membership to new highs. Under her administration membership rose to 92 women at the end of 2018, and while some members have passed away or retired from the club, we also welcomed 20 new members in the past two years. Jill's guidance and perseverance saw us through changes to the By-laws, a successful first "Beauty is a Strong Woman" Fashion Show, special recognition at CFWC State Convention last May for our Laundry to Literacy program, recognition at the GFWC Loma Prieta Convention last April for several of our Art Contest winners, Laundry to Literacy, and the Flamingo Flocking project, and an Award for Excellence from the San Benito County Office of Education for participation in the Footsteps2Brillance program to encourage reading. Jill, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you've done and continue to do.
We thank Maureen Serafini, outgoing Secretary for the enormous amount of time and effort to record and prepare the minutes for the monthly Board meetings and General meetings, for keeping the records up-to-date, and disseminating all the correspondence that comes through for the club. Maureen is stepping down from the Board after six years of service. Thank you, Maureen for all you do!
